If you’ve been experiencing difficulty in connecting to Twitter over the past 24-hours, it’s not your Internet Service Provider’s fault – Twitter was hacked. Yesterday, hackers launched a denial-of-service attack onto Twitter, making it slow and sometimes inaccessible. At the same time, Facebook was also experiencing some irregular access problems.
According to source, they suspect that the attack was due to the ongoing political conflict between Russia and Georgia. Hackers then started spamming Emails with links to Twitter, Facebook and other sites written by a pro-Abkhazia activist, overloading them with illegitimate traffic. Although the problem only took few hours to solve (approximately 1 hour according to Twitter Status Page) it caused quite some hassle to Twitter dependent individuals – how do you find out that Twitter has been hacked when you can’t access it?
My message : twitt twitt!! I am hacked!! Congratulations to all denial of service hacker which hacked twitter!!
