We left Kuala Lumpur at 4.30pm and reach Simpang Pulai about 6pm. We were kinda rushing to reach and meet the pastor. We waited for Asaph, after that, headed straight for the first orang asil kampung, about 20mins drive. We distributed food, had worship and preaching by Dr. Yee. That night, Adrian took over the testimony session.
After the session ended, we decided to have a little adventure. We drove off into the jungle. At one point, we came to a divided dirt road. One heading up and one heading down. Adrian boldly suggested taking the road going up. Being the driver, I noticed that the road is covered all i n thick mud. But thinking skills and guts is everything, we continued. Towards the middle of the climb, I suddenly noticed that I was accelerating uphill, but the car was sliding down hill..... Marwan and me thought, damn... The road was narrow and slippery, extremely slippery. So we decided to reverse back. But that was kinda the bad idea. Thinking that my driving was so good, (but its not) we reverse back. The mud was too slippery that even with the hand brakes pulled, the car continue to slide down...... Finally, the back right hand corner of the car dropped into a ditch..... Hopeless, we walked half way back and called Asaph, the whole team came and pushed the car out... Great lesson learned here.... The car suffered minor damage. And by the way, our surrounding was absolutely pitch dark. No light at all, in the jungle.
