Finally...I get to test and review the highest class mountain bikes from Proton. Well among its T-bolt models, this is the base specs with a whole lot of performance. I tested the bike on road and off road. Hmmm..... for off road, this bike may need some tuning to the shocks. For off road setting to be used on road... abit strength taxing.... The shocks will be soft and absorb most of your leg power on road. Have to pump the shocks hard to max up your power from your thighs to you knee, calf and ankle out to your foot. T-bolt works awesome on off roads, not to mention...the comfort, and if you are in competition? The performance!! Its robust, and easy on the handling. Nice bends and sharp hill destroyer for this T-bolt. Hop on logs, jump off rocks!! No problem!! In water? Braking is still awesome!! :D Overall, its a great light weight weapon from Proton. It could be quite a harmful weapon to other off roaders... Watch out!! :D If anyone is looking for a base montain bike....for starters n for training. This will be awesome!! :) Mind you, I have no problem fitting two T-bolts in to my Kancil!! LOL
Sadly...no clip on paddle for you mountain bikers.... you might want to invest in a LOOK or a Shimano paddle. Or if you have more money, go for the lighter ones!! Haha!!
Believe if or not!! This bike weighs only 14kg... and cost only RM1800!! Proton T-bolt Handmade carbon fibre frame!! Compared to my imported GIANT road bike from UK at RM8k.... for the frame!! Well...its handmade Aluxx Aluminium. And the "GIANT" weighs only 12kg... Haha!! Paying for less weight... that is the hope and prayer of all cyclist. LOL. I have another orange one coming!! :D
Here is my review....a new baby to my team.
GIANT
Magura
Campagnolo
Shimano
FOX

Firstly is.... the sexy body of the T-Bolt... Handmade carbon fibre!!
Strong and durable TRUVATIV cranks, well almost the best in terms of weight per dollar compared to Campag or Shimano

Proton added a awesome feature to the bike... quick release levers for instant rim change or for traveling
owhh yeah!! this is awesome!! TEKTRO disc brakes!! Excellent braking and handling.....But i still prefer Magura or the Shimano Dydraulic! Haha!!
here we have the air shocks from DNM Torch performance suspension. Well I loved it!! Great response and well.. a valve to add air.. LOL

I also have this bicycle too. As u had mention, it's totally awesome..
For those who wanna buy this bicycle, please visit ur nearby Proton showroom.
(Sound like crazy but this bicycle under Proton production.Proton not only sell car but also MPV & bicycle. Support our local product!)
Had my TBolt since 2007. For the price I paid (RM950) I strongly believe it's well worth it. The ride is awesome, the DNM shock is underrated. It perform well. But the RST fork is a bit soft to my liking. I changed the RST fork with Dart3. I have a Giant NRS-3 with Rockshock rear shock and IMHO the TBolt's rear shock performance is better than my Giant NRS. Looking forward to upgrade my fork and my wheelset to a lighter one.
Does Proton still sell this bike nowadays? Can I get one from the local bike shop.
@no : Yes, they still do sell them at local stores.
@All : I am not sure if proton will be producing new models for this. But you all can check it out at the local stores. Preferably Those shops in PJ Probike.
